Golf SuppliHER Diversity Conference 2020

SEPTEMBER 18, 2019 —Industry experts gathered at East Lake Golf Course to share a wealth of information on opportunities in the golf industry.  Leading the charge was program creator, Ms. Patrina King, who is also the founder of Golf Women Mean Business.  The full weekend of activities began on Tuesday, September 1 with a golf tournament, lunch and awards reception.

Wednesday a day-long conference with presentations and panel sessions educated attendees on how to grow their minority/women-owned and operated businesses with speakers that included:

  • Gina Rizzi, President ARCUS Marketing
  • Dr. Georgette Fraser-Moore, President, Transformation Lead, LLC
  • Lauren Shelly, AJGA, Director of Training & Development 
  • Marianna Whitehurst, Board Member, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame
  • Debert Cook, African American Golfer’s Digest
  • Sandy Cross, PGA, Chief People Officer 
  • Michele Morrissey, President, Lucidity 
  • Allison Filmore, Executive Director, TOUR Championship
  • Dr. Michael Cooper, Chairman, 20/20 Diversity Task Force
  • Bill Walker, IAGA, Executive Director 
  • Layne Williams, Senior advisor, GSGA

Important topics shared touched on work issues and challenges impacting women in gaining supplier diversity bids and contracts, as well as what it takes to do business with corporations in the golf industry.  Attendees also had the opportunity to directly connect with various suppliers onsite during the event to exchange business cards and ask additional questions.

Georgia’s Own Credit Union has provided a generous admission sponsorship.

You are also invited to register for the golf tournament, being held on September 17, 2019 .  It is open to all with various flights to make the round enjoyable. Proceeds will benefit the First Tee of Metro Atlanta.
